Introduction
Hello and welcome to my brand new website!
I have been debating starting this blog for a while now, but I’ve finally decided to jump in and get started!
To those of you that don’t know me, I’m Claudie and I’m a pattern designer and children’s illustrator from Canada, currently living in the UK. I started my career as an illustrator about 7 years ago, working freelance on picture books and middle grade covers (which I still do today). I branched out to surface pattern design 3 years ago when I fell in love with fabric design. I love working for textile and the joy that I got from combining my illustration background with fabric design was amazing!
So I plan to talk about my own experience with pattern design, from an illustrator’s point of view. My patterns are all hand-drawn digitally in Photoshop (not much of an Illustrator lover!) and I’d love to give some insight into how I create my work and hopefully help someone!
You’ll find inspirational content, talks about niche art and how to make it work, learning material, and a little bit of personal adventures.
